The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the actual costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week, with a higher rate for London to reflect the higher cost of living in the capital.
It is clear that the benefits of paying the real Living Wage extend not only to our employees, but also to businesses we engage with and to society as a whole.
